    I do know when you are friendly with people and talk to them some seem to think you have just become their friend and you should offer your service or product free or at a discount just for them.  Many are not realistic to what it costs to start businesses and keep them going.

    Good tips to keep you focused! We have had booth with small activities like a hockey or basketball shot. We would require participants to get a wristband from our booth before playing which helped us ensure strong lead attraction/retention. We also factored in giveaway for our less 'desirable' leads that look for the freebies, this was a generic wristband. Our stronger leads were offered tailored grab bags with specific program/service information to avoid the yada yada yada typical grab baggie with useless flyers. One thing we have not tried was the trial give away. That would be a good idea for our next event!
